ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing
The ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing are revised and published every four years by the International Sailing Federation, the world governing body for the sport.
The latest edition, the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008, came into effect on 1 January 2005. Printed copies are available through your Member National Authority or can be purchased from the ISAF Secretariat using the Publication Order Form.

Rule 40.2
The date in the note under rule 40.2 should be replaced as follows:
Note: This rule takes effect on 1 January 2006 1 January 2009.
This change in the note to Rule 40.2 will apply immediately and effectively means that rule 40.2 will not take effect before the new edition of the Racing Rules of Sailing (2009-2012) will be published.
ISAF continues working on safety improvements and will publish information about quick release devices in January 2006 on the ISAF Website.
SUPPLEMENT - 1 to the RACING RULES OF SAILING for 2005 - 2008 - Issued December 2004
The following change to the RRS 2005-2008 was approved by the ISAF Council on 13 November 2004.
Rule 3 - Replace rule 3(c) with:
where the matter is not one to be determined under the rules, not to resort to any court of law or any tribunal until all internal remedies provided by the ISAF or by the Court of Arbitration for Sport have been exhausted.
